The Team
We are a group of six friends based in Yorkshire and Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK. The two are fantastic places to be based to get out climbing and mountaineering, and exploring the mountains and generally enjoying everything the outdoors has to offer. Within the team there is a wide range of skills and experience including rope access, outdoor instruction, running and managing businesses, but most importantly we all love climbing. Every member of the team has climbed extensively in the Scottish Highlands and the rest of the UK, with various individuals also travelling farther afield to the Alps, Atlas Mountains, Norway and Mongolia.
Sally Hudson
Sally was brought up walking, running and mountain biking in the hills of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. A move to Fort William in 2010 introduced her to the world of climbing and mountaineering, and developed her love of venturing of into remote ares. She had been on expeditions to Mongolia, Nepal and Morocco, and is the leader of the Djenghi-Djer, Kyrgyzstan Expedition 2017. |
Will Rowland
Hailing from Nairn, Will has been disappearing of into the Scottish mountains in search of adventure for as long as he can remember. He has climbed extensively in the Dolomites and the Alps, and in 2013 put up new routes in the Moroccan Atlas mountains along with Connor and James. Whether he has skis, crampons or rock shoes on his feet, Will can always be relied upon for an adventure. |
James Cooper
The knot guru of the team, James works as an IRATA rope access technician and rescue specialist. As well as being able to rig up the most elaborate of rope systems, James works as a kayak and raft guide, and is also a pretty handy climber. He started his climbing career in the Scottish Highlands and has since climbed in the Alps, New Zealand and was also a member of the Morocco expedition team. |
Connor Holdsworth
Connor grew up climbing on Yorkshire grit stone with his dad, and after moving on to the bigger routes that Scotland has to offer, he is now the one leading the way between them. He was another member of the Morocco expedition team and also spent three months climbing in the Dolomites with Will. His most recent trip was spent climbing the pristine granite of the Lofoten Islands in Norway. |
Mark Chambers
Growing up in Wales, Mark developed his climbing skills on the boulders and outcrops of the area before moving on to the sea cliffs of Aberdeen. After eventually making it to Fort William to join Sally, Will and Connor on the Adventure Tourism Management course he got his hands on a pair of ice axes and is now a strong climber in all disciplines. Always keen and always, always psyched! |
Simon Tietjen
Simon, or Big Si, started climbing and mountaineering at a young age as an escape from city, hitching out to North Wales. From there he moved on to the bigger mountains of Scotland, the Alps and Canada. The Skye Cuillin is his favourite place to climb but living in Yorkshire, he has to make do with grit stone bouldering, mountain biking and running to stay sane while away from the mountains. |
